Rona Pano Dreaming

The new track from psychedelic indie band Rona Pano called Dreaming was released on 7th June. This song is very different to their EP, released earlier this year, which contained a mixture of love ballads and lively indie songs. The song Dreaming is very upbeat and, without going far from their roots, we can still hear a slight twinge of the Yorkshire accent from the lead singer.

The song contains nice jaunty guitar riffs which remind me of an 80s indie style, similar to that of The Smiths and The Chesterfields. Going more upbeat may be a risk for the band who’s loyal fans are probably used to more slower ballads and calmer indie tunes but this style definitely works for me.

The lo-fi sound in this track is mostly synonymous with bands like The Strokes and it certainly works well for this Yorkshire band too: let’s hope they get the recognition they deserve and become as popular as The Strokes are now!
