Marsicans, formerly known as The Scandals, return with their new single ‘Hands’. The Leeds upbeat indie band return with another fine energetic tune to lift our spirits in this cold windy weather. Clearly about a girl, they describe her to us at the beginning of the song which is backed by energetic guitar riffs and strong powerful vocals by lead singer James. Around 20 seconds into the song, the rhythm becomes even more buoyant, sounding similar to other dynamic bands out there today such as Foals. A passionate song containing great backing music, this sounds like it would be a great live track. Marsicans have a great following in Leeds and have played some of the town’s best venues including The Cockpit and Rios. The band also recently played BBC Introducing Sessions, the show which shows off the best local bands in the
area and which to watch out for. Airtime well deserved for The Marsicans I’d say! You can listen to the new track ‘Hands’ at http://soundcloud.com/marsicans/hands.
