Lucy Love is an alternative electro artist making her name on the music scene all the way from Denmark. Her latest release, Thunder, is available now,
Electronic instruments serve as a base for the song, whilst Lucy Love’s characteristic voice echoes softly and hauntingly over the drones and melodies. A downbeat tempo introduces the song, whilst an increasing number of instruments emphasise the rhythm underpinning the vocal line.
A change of pace and texture instantly transform the song from electronic ballad to alternative dance hit; rougher vocals and saw synthesisers provide the section with a heavier feel and a stronger beat that leave the listener dancing. The softer vocal intertwines with the harsher melodies, combining the two sections to create a tune you can’t help but move to.
The song soon returns to its original pace – the calm after the storm. Lucy Love’s lingering vocals are what define this track; through tempo changes and rhythmic variations, it remains strong and constant, piecing the track together.
Thunder is a striking track (if you’ll excuse the pun), and whilst the music market is dominated by British and American artists, Lucy Love could most certainly prove to be a great success.
